Can Red Bull use home ring advantage to attack Mercedes?

Mercedes driver Nico Roseberg has put a stop to team-mate Lewis Hamilton's claims that they are friends again while stating there would be trouble again in their relationship.

The three-times world champion had already expressed his frustration with the failures earlier in the season when he had predicted penalties would be inevitable but was frustrated that he has since collected a greater share of the bad luck.

Rosberg quashed the statement, saying that little had actually changed between them, Sport24 reported.

Lewis Hamilton is on the verge of a grid penalty after Mercedes fitted the last complete power unit of his season's allocation ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.

"I'm starting with my last (power unit) this weekend, I will have at least one race where I start dead last, most likely two", said Hamilton, who is now 24 points behind championship leader Rosberg. If there are 40 engines [across all Mercedes-powered cars] you would hope we would have the best of the 40. "I hope Mercedes learn from it and from the faults on mine".

"As I've always said I'm sure I will be here for more years to come because it feels great to be here and the team is also happy with me". "That's the way it goes and I have to do the best I can with the one I have now and the ones that follow".

NR: I think that this will have a quite big impact, and of course we have adapted our set-up accordingly.

Cleanup underway after California oil pipeline spill
Segee noted that the response to last year's Plains All American oil spill on Santa Barbara's Refugio Beach was similar. The oil left a black stain down the brush- and tree-filled arroyo and did not spread elsewhere.

Hamilton said he felt that the problems were singling him out, and that the other seven drivers using Mercedes engines were not suffering the same issues.

"I will find out where I will take that penalty or penalties".

"The percentage chances of Nico winning and me finishing second or further back is obviously higher, but we all try to minimise firstly the engines that we have to take".

"It's not easy to look at the table and see eight Mercedes drivers and everyone else is on a normal plan, everyone is on a second engine and has four left and I have one left", he said. We have sent someone to measure the asphalt to try to understand what the impact will be on our tyres. There could be safety cars, could be all sorts of things. The goal of the rules not allowing the pit wall to pass on certain information was to make the race more challenging for both the teams and the drivers.

While Hamilton found immediate support in the paddock from Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel - with the latter describing the radio ban as "a joke" - as well as his Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, Jenson Button has also urged the FIA to keep faith with the new ruling.

"I wouldn't say there will be two".

'But the guys are so revved up, so motivated to sort it out that I have zero doubt they will sort it out'.
