Simone Biles and Laurie Hernandez make US Olympic gymnastics team

After Sunday night's competition here at SAP Center, the results showed that MyKayla Skinner and Ragan Smith both finished with one of the top five all-around performances in the women's Olympic trials.

Jewish-American Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman has been named to the USA women's gymnastics team.

Douglas broke down when USA Gymnastics president Steve Penny announced the team. Many have suggested the 19-year old Biles could be the greatest female gymnast ever.

Douglas and Raisman both competed on the team at the 2012 Olympics in London, winning both team and individual gold medals. Beam: Biles, Hernandez, Raisman. She was second, 2.100 points behind Biles.

She had one more chance to make the team in the 1,500 meters.

At 22, Raisman is the oldest member of the team, which reportedly has earned her the nickname "Grandma".

This year's team is being touted as the most racially diverse in US history.

"She did four for four but the selections is based on three of three (routines) and if you look up her scores on every single even, her score is not factoring in, not even one time in three of three counts", Karoyli said. She ranked seventh after the first night of trials.

South Korea's Olympic committee clears Park for Rio
The decision came after a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Korean Olympic Committee official Park Dong-hee said. CAS ruled Friday that KOC's extended ban constituted a double jeopardy for Park and should be nullified, according to KOC .

Simone Biles won the two-day competition with a total of 123.250 points although also falling off the beam Sunday in her final. Runner-up Shannon Rowbury also made her third Olympic team, and third-place finisher Brenda Martinez will also go to the Rio Games next month. Hernandez finished third all-around at P&Gs and did it with flair, especially on floor.

Regardless, she is making her Olympic return and going to Rio. The Americans have built a dynasty over the past six years, winning three world championship team titles and gold in London. Felix qualified last weekend for the 400, but had been dealing with a sore right ankle and could not make it in her signature event. Two weeks after saying it's how athletes are doing now - and not their gaudy resumes - that matters most in picking the team, Karolyi clarified her standards when pressed about Douglas' lingering sluggishness.

This is the wild card that may define the entire US team's fate next month. The 20-year-old adjusted her coaching staff between last month's national championships and the trials, a move Karolyi said caused "confusion" in Douglas' training. Going back to the Secret Classic, Locklear's bar average came out 0.02 ahead of Kocian, but the higher difficulty and the exclamation mark of the final routine gave Kocian the definitive lead.

Joining them on the team is this year's breakthrough star Laurie Hernandez.

How she did it: There's a little leeway given for the reigning Olympic gold medalist in the all-around.

Gabby Douglas competes on the uneven bars during the USA women's gymnastics championships Sunday, June 26, 2016, in St. Louis.

Douglas started the night swinging her arms twice before launching into a twisting, double Yurchenko vault that scored 15.000 - just off her Friday night mark. Thankfully, her gymnastics performances earn far better scores. It could be that the events that are her specialties (vault and floor) were less of a concern for the coaches, and they instead wanted gymnasts who were specialists on uneven bars (as evidenced by the selection of Kocian) and/or balance beam.
