Police Gun Down Maoist-Turned-Gangster Nayeemuddin in Telangana

The encounter took place at Millennium Township area in Shadnagar of Mahabubnagar district Gangster Nayeem, involved in killing some top former Maoists, was hiding in the house in Millennium Township.

Joint operations are being conducted by the National Investigative Agency and the Telangana Police.

Nayeemuddin and his associate, were killed in an exchange of fire with the police in Shadnagar Town, on Banglore highway about 50 km from Hyderabad. This Encounter operation carried on Monday morning.The NIA personnel surrounded a house and exchanged gunfire before finally overcoming the militant.

Police sources say that, they have been tracking Nayeem for the past few months and up on tip off from a reliable source, rounded of the home where Nayeem and his gang was stationed near Shadnagar today.

Nayeem, who was accused of killing a police officer and many former Maoist leaders, was in a four-wheeler which was intercepted by a police team.

According to ANI, one of the suspects, has been identified as Naeem - a gangster who is wanted in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The police recently tracked the mobile phones of the gangsters who had called Dichpally ZPTC member's husband Amruthapur Gangad-har and demanded '1 crore. Nayeem was also an accused in the murder of other civil rights movement leaders in the past 20 years.

Two ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLAs had complained against Nayeemuddin's extortion and land deals in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda district to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
