The South Korean mobile giant is attempting to find ways for sustaining the revenue by refurnishing or restructuring the device line up.

According to a report, Samsung is planning to launch the refurbished smartphones program by early 2017 which will sell the used version of premium devices. It said resales encourage some smartphone owners to replace their devices with new ones, which boosts vendor revenues. It's possible that customers will be getting a brand new battery or display, as well as a manufacturer's warranty that you don't get by buying a used phone from eBay or Craigslist.

Details of how much the refurbished smartphones would be sold at and markets being targeted were not made known by the source.

Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge phones in India in March at a price of Rs 48,900 and Rs 56,900 respectively. One would assume they will eventually turn to other channels as well if the program is popular enough.

There is a question as to whether or not refurbished phones will compete with Samsung's newest phones.

Hillary Clinton's Victory May Restrict Foreign Corporate Donations To Clinton Foundation
In any event, the Clinton Global Initiative will wind down after one last gathering in September, the former president said. Trump said the exchange proved a "pay-to-play" relationship between donors and Hillary Clinton's State Department .

Unfortunately, there is still a lot we don't know about the program. Samsung has employed curved 2.5D glass on the new Galaxy S7, while the Galaxy S7 Edge has a screen that curves on two sides. Apparently, the Smartphone market plateauing but Samsung hopes to make a kill from its upgrade programs which are expected to attract many consumers.

Refurbished phones might also lure enterprise clients who want Samsung's security, software, and hardware for a fraction of the price.

Apple has already been selling refurbished iPhones for a number of years, and Samsung could use the refurbished phone program to sustain its earnings.

Deloitte says the used smartphone market will be worth more than $17 billion (£13bn) this year, with 120 million devices sold or traded in to manufacturers or carriers - around 8 per cent of total smartphone sales.

The program could help Samsung defend market share in emerging countries by bolstering mid-tier sales.
