Trump on Miss Universe weight controversy: 'I saved her job'

Lewandowski attempted to deflect from the criticism over Trump's public shaming of Machado by smearing her on the September 29 edition of CNN's New Day, asserting that "The Clinton campaign took a person and brought her into a debate who has been part of a murder".

Well, he definitely got one thing right.

The comment is in reference to Trump's decision to double down earlier this week on criticism of Alicia Machado, the 1996 Miss Universe pageant victor whom the billionaire businessman mocked in an interview with radio host Howard Stern at the time and instructed to exercise in front of a gaggle of reporters.

As previously reported, Machado, 39 - who won Miss Universe at age 19 in 1992 - revealed during a Wednesday, September 28, appearance on Today thatTrump's insults about her weight contributed to her battles with anorexia and bulimia.

But why exactly is the Trumpster going after Miz Machado?

Machado, from Venezuela, but now an American citizen, was the first Miss Universe crowned after Trump bought the pageant. The worst. The absolute worst.

"I saved her job because they wanted to fire her for putting on so much weight", Trump told Bill O'Reilly on Fox News Wednesday. "We had a real problem".

Blige, Clinton interview clips face ridicule online
You may remember singer/songwriter Blige from her guest appearance on season 4, episode 8, of the hit HBO series "Entourage". Blige unveiled a conversation that she is set to have with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton .

You have left for this month.

According to Seal, Trump made disparaging comments to other pageant contestants as well.

"Trump says he said, "'Don't do that, let her try and lose the weight'".

Alicia Machado was hurled into the spotlight on Tuesday when Hillary Clinton raised her opponent's history of sexist comments, using the former beauty queen's story as her prime example. "The point is, that happened 20 years ago". He realizes that blue-collar white men are angry, and certainly plays to their resentments of increasingly successful women and people of color. "And you can bet she's going to vote this November", she finished. And he called they woman 'Ms.

But a reinvigorated feminist movement and its overlap with movements for fat acceptance mean broader awareness of the harms that narrow beauty ideals can cause, and a more generalized disgust at men who feel entitled to judge women's bodies. "If you gain weight, if you don't look the most handsome girl in the world, you have your mind, you have your heart, you are intelligent". Companies increasingly tout the use of "real women" in their ads, or their refusal to airbrush photos of models. "He loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them", Clinton said from the debate stage at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

Trump implied the contestants should understand that their weight could be an issue.

It is not a coincidence that Trump doubled down on his sexist, sizist remarks right as polling showed that voters crowned Hillary Clinton, and not him, the victor of the debate.
