National Football League upholds 10-game ban for Eagles' Johnson

Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson will miss the next 10 games after his suspension for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing drugs was upheld Tuesday. We are all working under a clearly defined set of rules and regulations set forth by the NFL in the collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA (National Football League Players Association).

Roseman went on to state the entire team will welcome Johnson back once his suspension is over. He appealed the 10-game suspension and participated in a hearing last Tuesday in NY with his attorney, Steven Zashin.

Johnson's lawyer, Steve Zashin, told Albert Breer of the MMQB that Johnson has been informed of the decision. "We will wait for his formal opinion".

The Eagles offensive line has been excellent this year, allowing their rookie quarterback Wentz to be sacked only seven times, second lowest in the league.

Johnson is eligible to play only the Eagles' last two games of the regular season - the Giants on December 22, a Thursday night, and the season finale January 1 against the Cowboys.

Pederson had initially considered moving left guard Allen Barbre to right tackle and using Stefan Wisniewski or rookie Isaac Seumalo at guard, but made a decision to keep Barbre at guard and give Vaitai a chance.

Kaine Denies Bill Clinton's Indiscretions Apply to Trump's Candidacy
Pressed by host Jake Tapper about whether Clinton had made comments embracing free trade, Kaine said, "I have no way of knowing that".

The Eagles, in a statement, admonished Johnson, saying his 10-game ban has "affected the entire organization".

Over the summer, Lane Johnson signed a new contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Johnson tested positive for a banned substance this summer, marking the second infraction during his four-year National Football League career, and he appealed the ruling last week.

Whoever takes over will have to be ready to go right away this week against the Washington Redskins. The Eagles could also leave Barbre at left guard and start Johnson's backup, rookie Halapoulivaati Vaitai at right tackle. Those are against the Giants and the Cowboys, so they could be huge for the playoff picture, but it's still hard to be without him until that late in the year. Back in August, reports of a 10-game suspension for the former first-round pick emerged.

For Johnson, he'll be missing out on a boatload of cash as a result in addition to missing more than half of the 2016 season.

The loss of Lane Johnson means that the Philadelphia Eagles now need Jason Peters to stay healthy for the majority of the season.
