Heathrow named Best Airport in Western Europe

Heathrow was presented with the two important titles at the 2017 Skytrax World Airport Awards ceremony held in Amsterdam last night.

With more than 5,000 visitors attending the first day alone - including CEOs, architects, airport and airline executives, suppliers and key decision makers from across the world - Passenger Terminal Expo provided the flawless setting for the prestigious award announcements. In the overall best airport category, HKIA, while still the world's most profitable, finished fifth - identical to last year - while Singapore's Changi Airport retained top honours for the fourth straight year, finishing ahead of Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Incheon, and Munich.

Recently, the airport was adjudged as the "World's Second Best Airport" in the "Over 40 million" category as well as in the Asia-Pacific region according to the ASQ Survey 2017 conducted by the Airports Council International (ACI). Among the service and product key performance indicators include travellers' satisfaction during check-ins, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration through to departure at the gate.
