Apple is making Macs out of old iPhones

The company has been criticised in the past for sourcing materials from mines that exploit child labour, but is now pledging to shake up its supply chain and look for alternative means of building its iPhones, iPads and Macbooks.

Meanwhile, Andy Hargreaves, Equity Research Analyst at Pacific Crest Securities, said that Apple may need to do away with the TouchID feature in the upcoming iPhone if it can not resolve the issue with integrating it in the screen. The tenth-anniversary iPhone is expected to feature a new design that improves the screen-to-body ratio, a virtual on-screen home button, and a glass back that enables wireless charging. The world's most valuable tech company is apparently having a pilot study of the dual-lenses for the selfie shooter, an upgrade from the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which have single camera sensor. The report states that Apple will begin mass production of the display for the Apple Watch Series 3 in Taiwan at the end of 2017. "One day we'd like to be able to build new products with just recycled materials, including your old products", it said.

"Traditional supply chains are linear".

The company hopes its latest announcement will jump-start collaboration on how to achieve the earth-mining goal. One example is Liam, a recycling robot in use since past year.

Iraqi forces capture key parts of Mosul neighborhood
But Iraq's United Nations ambassador, Mohamed Ali Alhakim, said later there was no evidence for that. Troops have had the centuries-old mosque with its leaning minaret in their sights since last month.

The company's research concluded that recycled aluminum should come from Apple products rather than recycling facilities because of the high-grade quality required. "For tin, we took a different approach", the company stated.

Currently, only a minority of the materials the company uses are recycled. "Unlike aluminum, there is an existing market supply of recycled tin that meets our quality standards." - the report read.

Apple also shed light on its initiatives to reduce reliance on mining, with the previously revealed Liam robot being one of these solutions.

More than that, Apple is allegedly going to use OLED displays on all iPhones by 2019, and in turn, the anticipated iPhone 9 will likely sport the screen technology. Did you know that Apple makes half a gallon of fake human sweat every day so that it can test its products when things get a little bit icky?
