BlackBerry KeyOne lands in the UK

We first saw the BlackBerry KeyOne at CES 2017, and it's an impressive attempt at reinventing the enterprise-focused smartphone.

It's been a couple of months since we heard anything about the KeyOne, but today BlackBerry is going public with information on the phone's availability in North America.

Its US launch will take place on May 31, where you can pick up a KeyOne unlocked for $549.

"BlackBerry is giving a 4.5" 1080p display, a frugal, but powerful Snapdragon 625 chipset, a 12 MP camera with large pixels, and a hearty 3500 mAh juicer that promises incredible battery life with these specs. It will be available for preorder starting May 18 from select partners.

The BlackBerry KEYone includes a 12MP rear camera with an industry leading camera sensor (Sony IMX378) that captures sharp, crisp photos in any light.

Prominent firm to defend 'Bachelor' star in Iowa crash case
Authorities said someone called 911 to report the crash, but they didn't release the identity of the caller or audio of the call. He was taken after the crash by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, where he was pronounced dead.

He also tweeted that production of the KEYone was underway, "but we want to be certain we can meet our customer demands..." The KeyOne is BlackBerry's is the company's latest offering that will define the future of the brand in this intensely competitive and insane tech market. While its seemingly-antiquated design necessitates a stubbier screen than a typical smartphone, the excellent hardware keyboard feels flawless - just as it did years ago on older BlackBerry models. For now, the smartphone manufacturer is celebrating the United Kingdom release of the BlackBerry KEYone at Selfridges, London.

Also of note is the physical keyboard.

It runs Android 7.1 Nougat and is heavily customised with BlackBerry's user interface and apps, including BlackBerry Messenger, BlackBerry Hub and DTEK security. There's no word when BlackBerry plans to bring the KeyOne to India. BlackBerry boasts 26 hours of battery life with mixed use, due to its 3,505mAh battery. The keys are nicely separated and the spacebar doubles as a fingerprint reader.

The KEYone is the first BlackBerry device released under TCL Communication after a brand licencing agreement was struck between the two firms.

You might have already heard that BlackBerry is no longer making its own smartphones.
