UK's Labour pledges new Brexit strategy if it wins election

May is targeting Wales, a largely rural country which has always been a stronghold of her Labour opponents but voted in favor of Brexit, by exploiting rifts in the opposition party to press her argument that only she can win a good divorce deal with Brussels.

Britain's opposition Labour Party on Tuesday announced it would guarantee the right of European Union citizens residing in the country if it wins a general election slated for June 8.

Labour says its research shows that between 2010 and 2016, only 1,679 homes were built on average in Tory-led local authority areas - almost 1,000 fewer than in Labour councils.

Elsewhere, Labour will make the NHS the focus of their day of campaigning, with shadow health secretary Jonathan Ashworth set to promise to lift the 1% cap on pay rises for "undervalued" health service workers.

Mrs May said: "I know that this is a city, it's a place where perhaps people usually might say that it's a traditional Labour area but here and in constituencies across the country although it may say Labour on the ballot it will be Jeremy Corbyn who gets the votes".

"And everyone in our country has a positive reason to lend me their vote".

At the National Pharmacy Association in Tory-held St Albans, he will say: "With this disastrous hard Brexit the Government is hurting businesses, both big and small, costing jobs and hitting families. Voting for the future".

In a raucous session of prime minister's questions in the House of Commons, the two leaders eyeballed each other while outlining competing visions as MPs behind them cheered and jeered.

'And I think the most powerful argument for Labour in this election - because of the way the polls are, and the way the opinion polls are in the leadership issue - the most powerful argument for Labour is to say it is important for our democracy that the government is held properly to account and she needs a strong opposition'. I've never been involved in that and never will be.

He said: 'I don't think that's the real issue in this election.

Starmer accused May's government of "taking option after option off the table" before talks even start.

Mr Corbyn promised a country that is "properly housed", as he unveiled research showing Labour councils have built an average of almost 1,000 more homes since 2010 than their Tory counterparts. Asked over the potential of Labour's stance, Mr McFadden added: "I am committed to securing the best possible deal, in terms of trade, security and investment".

"Labour councils build more homes than Conservative ones".

The Labour leader said Britain should instead pursue diplomatic action to end the Syrian conflict, and appeared to cast doubt on whether the Assad regime was responsible for the chemical attack which prompted the recent United States missile attack.
