Masters Of The Universes loses its director, but confirms release date

Goyer takes over from Predators duo Mike Finch and Alex Litvak, who were initially handed the task of writing the remake, before Pirates of the Caribbean screenwriter Terry Rossio jumped onboard in 2013.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Sony has scheduled the film for December 18, 2019.

Sony's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe reboot has reportedly lost its director. The potentially decent news is there's a new writer on board. I think that's okay news.

McG (Charlie's Angels) is no longer attached to the project and Sony is meeting with directors.

Mets' Syndergaard misses start because of bicep discomfort
The 28-year-old Harvey (2-0, 2.84 ERA) is moving up a day in the rotation as the Mets bid to end their five-game losing skid. UP NEXT New York acquired Syndergaard (1-1, 1.73 ERA) from Toronto in December 2012 by trading away knuckleballer R.A.

According to the Hollywood trade, Sony is now meeting with various unnamed directors and actors for the film.

Anybody who grew up in the 1980s was at least somewhat aware of the cartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, a colorful and weird sci-fi sword-and-sorcery story about a lame princess who gets a magic sword and turns into an awesome superhero who hates shirts and trousers. He joined the project in 2016 but has now departed.

Whether or not you're happy with that will depend on how much you like Goyer, but here's where things get really interesting. The only name that previously surfaced to be in contention was Kellan Lutz, but that was back when McG was directing, and I can't imagine he's still in the running, nor should he be. Well, we might finally have a chance to see the loincloth wearing hero once more.
