If health coverage becomes more hard to obtain ― as would nearly certainly happen should the AHCA become law ― it would likely worsen the growing public health issue of behavioral health disorders, according to Linda Rosenberg, president and CEO of the National Council on Behavioral Health.

"When we are mentally healthy, we are able to feel, think and act in ways that help us lead healthy and enjoyable lives". Coaches, teachers, youth group leaders, scout leaders, parent volunteers, faith-based communities, police officers, camp counselors, nurses, college students and medical first responders are among the thousands already trained across the country.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone with a mental health problem or to assist someone who is in a mental health crisis.

The training is helpful because mental health is a community problem.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call the RCMP, or go to your local health centre or hospital immediately, the Government of Nunavut release said.

Helpers must assess the situation.

The fair aims to give people support if they are suffering from mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. Sometimes a person might respond after knowing you are consistently there for them.
