Middlesbrough captain devastated as Premier League relegation confirmed

Can Chelsea win the English Premier League in this game? They could do that in the match against West Brom.

Former Chelsea winger Clive Walker believes Middlesbrough let their fans down with their inept performance at Stamford Bridge against the Blues on Monday night.

Chelsea will be looking to get that win at the Hawthorns on Friday night when they play a West Brom side who now sit in eighth place in the standings. Then, through hard work, he improved a lot and now he is playing in every game.

"I feel the quality of my minutes whenever I've been on the pitch have been fantastic, so maybe my contribution has been even bigger than when I've played more in other seasons", Fabregas said after Monday's victory.

"It was probably more comfortable last time but the run-in is always the same, there is always a stage in the season when it's going to be tight, when teams are putting pressure on and you're having to win".

"We've worked so hard for a number of years to get back into the Premier League and we know how tough the Premier League is", he said. "Over the years we've had good games against them and we've had a few good results at The Hawthorns, so we'll be turning up confident and trying to win the game", McAuley said.

"We're very close. We must be honest".

LEADING OFF: Harvey back, Trout still out, Sabathia steps up
Whether they would seriously consider demoting Harvey to the minors might depend on the pitcher's actions in the days ahead. They informed Harvey of the suspension Sunday when he reported to the stadium for his scheduled start.

"I'm amazed at their sense of organisation, their sense of desire". But my players showed me great commitment, great focus, will and desire to overcome this moment.

"Everyone is devastated", he admitted.

"They were very disappointing, but we were very professional". We've pulled up short.

Baggies manager Tony Pulis was watching from the stand at Stamford Bridge and will have gone away with plenty of food for thought after a Chelsea display that oozed class and intent.

"We can't thank them enough".

Chelsea's fortune changed completely as they finished on the 10th position in the last season and this season they are on their way to the title.

The Premier League just couldn't decide whether Fabregas' pass for Diego Costa's should have been credited as an assist or not.
