Tom Hardy to Play Venom in Upcoming Marvel Movie!

Tom Hardy is now in final negotiations with Sony to star in their upcoming movie, Venom.

Sony is also developing a Silver Sable/Black Cat project along with more characters from Spider-Man, but Venom is their next big focus. The film will be directed by Ruben Fleischer, whose credits include Zombieland and, most recently, episodes of the Drew Barrymore comedy Santa Clarita Diet.

At the very least, there's no way this Venom could be worse than the one seen in Spider-Man 3, where a woefully miscast Topher Grace took on the part.

News that Hardy would portray Venom quickly became a trending topic on Twitter, adding to the social media wind at Sony's back.

Venom is scheduled for release in the USA 5 October 2018.

Toyota, 3 other automakers settle suit over Takata air bags
According to Toyota , the agreement will reimburse plaintiffs for travel costs while their cars are repaired. The settlement comes in the wake of mass recalls of airbags produced by Japanese company Takata .

The Venom film is meant to be the first in a new shared universe of films from Sony using villains and other secondary characters from the Spider-Man canon. His solo film Spider-Man: Homecoming is released later this summer.

The next Spider-Man installment is the highly-anticipated Marvel/Sony project, starring Tom Holland. That will be plenty of DC action to watch before "Venom" hits theaters, and that's not even including "Justice League" this November, or "Aquaman" in 2018. The movie is the second reboot of the franchise, this time including the character into Marvel's Cinematic Universe as he tries to balance his double life as Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

THN will bring you all the latest updates on Venom as we get them.

Scott Rosenberg ("Jumanji") and Jeff Pinkner ("The Dark Tower") will write the script for "Venom", with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal.

Venom has been one of Marvel's top villains and a Spider-Man fixture since he was introduced in 1988, created by writer David Michelinie and artists Todd McFarlane and Mike Zeck.
