Graco recalls car seats; webbing may not hold child in crash

Popular children's product company Graco is recalling more than 25,000 convertible child restraints due to an issue that can lead to serious injuries to children in the event of a crash.

The models on recall include 1871689, 1908152, 1813074, 1872691, 1853478, 1877535, 1813015 and 1794334.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration prompted the recall, saying that the harness webbing could tear and fail.

Only seats with specific "webbing tag codes" and dates of manufacture have been recalled.

Graco is manufacturing replacement harness kits.

Graco's Canadian division is recalling 1,393 vehicle seats with defective harness restraints.

The recall affects certain My Ride 65 convertible auto seats that were manufactured during the summer of 2014 and sold in the United States at list prices ranging from $119 to $199. The recall is expected to begin July 17, 2017.
