House budget leaves out Senate spending cuts

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi confirmed to Politico the upper chamber still plans to use the reconciliation process to pass the measure, allowing them to get the legislation through the Senate with a simple majority.

At the same event, RoseAnn DeMoro, the leader of the California Nurses Association, attempted to bully Democrats into supporting the bill with threats to campaign against those who don't vote for it.

There are two broad options for fixing the problem posed by the MacArthur amendment's waivers and the nasty trade-offs-analyzed and confirmed to the best of CBO's ability-implicit in this kind of health insurance deregulation.

The analysis said the House bill would reduce federal deficits by $119 billion over the next decade.

That's according to a new estimate released Wednesday by the Congressional Budget Office.

GOP leaders are facing the same challenge that initially stymied House Republicans: crafting legislation that gets enough support from members of their own party.

That compares with 28 million under age 65 who would lack insurance that year under the current health law signed by President Barack Obama. The proposal includes the elimination of $60 million in state sales tax exemptions for towing, pet care, self storage, lawn care, tattoos and piercings, security guards and detective services.

AHIP also warns that a new cap on Medicaid payments in the House bill "could result in unnecessary disruptions in the coverage and care beneficiaries depend on". Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst has been participating and she says her input is making a difference. The tax is applied to wages over $200,000 for an individual and over $250,000 for a married couple.

Ajax boss Peter Bosz: Europa League final has lost its glow
United's performances during this season's tournament suggested their players were not sure how much they wanted to win it either. Bosz said the wives and children of some Ajax players attended one of the pop star's concerts in Amsterdam about two weeks ago.

Senate Republicans say there is a growing consensus that they want a slower phase-out of Obamacare's expansion of Medicaid health coverage for the poor than in the House bill, which would cut the program by about $800 billion.

In states not getting waivers, where it estimated half the country lives, average premiums would be about 4 percent lower in 2026 than under Obama's law, the report said.

Blunt argued Republicans had no choice but to take on the task because as he put it Obamacare is collapsing, many insurance companies are pulling out of it altogether and millions of Americans could be left without coverage. "In the coming days we look forward to reviewing the House's budget proposal".

Excluding Democratic involvement will leave McConnell, a conservative 75-year-old Kentuckian with a reputation as a dealmaker, a narrow path to win passage of these ambitious goals, which are also at the head of Republican President Donald Trump's policy agenda. "That's not going to happen", said Blair, R-Berkeley/Morgan/Hampshire/Mineral.

The private Senate GOP negotiations include a 13-member leadership-controlled working group as well as nearly daily closed-door discussions among all Senate Republicans.

Though it wasn't included in the House Republicans' healthcare bill, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Vista) still believes Americans should have access to the same insurance plans federal employees pick from, and he's hoping the Senate will embrace the idea. Huberty had tried to get the Senate to include one of his own bills, creating a $20 million grant program for schools helping students with autism, instead of the voucher-like program for kids with special needs. Such a finding would have violated the Senate's more arcane rules for considering budgetary items under fast-track rules - and it might have forced House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., to redraw the legislation and hold another vote.

"The real hard issue that we'll have to deal with next week will have to be the tax issue as to how much do we need to both stabilize and balance the budget and fund a school finance bill", said Senate Majority Leader Anthony Hensley, D-Topeka.

The House's approval would send the measure to the Senate, which has a committee working on a rival plan.
