Comicon props banned after armed man arrested

The Phoenix Comicon is being held at the Phoenix Convention Center in the downtown area of Arizona's capital.

A man armed with multiple guns at Phoenix Comicon is now in police custody.

"The threats indicated that he was armed and meant to kill police officers", said Sgt. Mercedes Fortune, a police spokeswoman. The police took him away from the venue and was questioned at police headquarters.

An armed man, who witnesses described to be dressed as Rambo, was arrested at Phoenix Comic Con on Thursday.

"This is a great win for the Phoenix Police Department in showing that we as a community work so well with the information that is provided to us", Fortune stated.

Vermont governor vetoes marijuana bill, wants changes made
But in an effort to "get it right", he said the bill needs to improve protections for children and motorists. David Zuckerman, expressed disappointment over the governor's announcement.

Sterling struggled with officers before his arrest, according to ABC. This had lead to increased security checks and a ban being placed on all prop weapons for the remainder of the convention. Vendors will still be allowed to seal sealed toy weapons, but the police will require buyers to keep the packages unopened until exiting the venue.

According to police, the man also made threats against authorities on social media prior to the incident. Entry into the Phoenix Convention Center by the general public will also be limited to fewer entrances.

Police are ramping up security over the weekend with additional screenings amid the incident.

Phoenix Police confirmed the news, saying, "The suspect was found to be in possession of three handguns, a shotgun, a knife, ammunition, and a variety of other handheld weapons along with wearing body armor".
