Kellyanne Conway: Jared Kushner's foreign contacts helped make Trump's trip successful

by Garry Watts June 1, 2017, 0:43

In addition to Jared Kushner's meeting with Russian Envoy Sergey Kislyak, congressional and federal investigators are also closely scrutinizing another meeting Mr. Trump's son-in-law and top aide had during the transition period, the New York Times reported Monday.

The news website Politico called Kushner the White House's " lead distraction" following what is being seen as Trump's mostly successful first foreign trip, which featured a stopover in Israel.

- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 28, 2017 It is my opinion that numerous leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media.

White House counsellor Kellyanne Conway told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Mr Dubke resigned before Mr Trump left for his global trip earlier this month, suggesting that his departure is not linked to any pending shake-ups.

"The relationships Jared was able to establish during the transition helped develop this phenomenal global trip that they just came back from", Ms. Conway said on Fox News.

"Well, I haven't talked to him since all of this came out", Haley said. He is respected by virtually everyone and is working on programmes that will save our country billions of dollars.

Donald Trump's Jewish son-in-law and key adviser has been caught up in an escalating scandal over the USA president's links to Russian Federation, after it was revealed that he set up a secret "back channel" before Trump even took office.

Celtic clinch unbeaten treble with late Scottish FA Cup win
Player of the year Sinclair then fluffed a chance to win as he completely miss-hit his volley from a Griffiths pass allowing Lewis to make the save.

Kelly's common-sense reply was that, "It's both normal, in my opinion, and acceptable".

"Back channels like this are the regular course of business, and that's really all that we know", Conway said. Michael Flynn, since fired as the president's national security advisor for his Russian associations, was also at the meeting.

Kushner has drawn increased scrutiny as reports have emerged about his contacts with the Russian ambassador and a Russian banking representative. Tensions were eased after then-President John F. Kennedy used back-channel communications with his counterpart, Russian leader Nikita Khrushchev.

The White House did not acknowledge the meeting or Kushner's attendance until March.

- Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, spoke exclusively to ABC News' Martha Raddatz on "This Week" Sunday about his concerns with Kusher, Trump's son-in-law and senior advisor.

Schiff said the government needed to "get to the bottom" of the matter and urged a review of Kushner's security clearance "to find out whether he was truthful".

His last day at the White House has not yet been determined. He added that it is "very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers".
