Trump lashes out at leaks, considers staff upheaval

US President Donald Trump attacked the news media and dismissed leaks from the White House as "fake news", following reports his son-in-law tried to set up a secret channel of communications with Moscow before Mr Trump took office.

The revelation has stoked new questions about Mr. Kushner's connections to Russian officials at a time when the FBI is conducting a wide-ranging investigation into Russia's attempts to disrupt last year's presidential election and whether any of Mr. Trump's advisers assisted in the Russian campaign.

Kelly said he did not know if the reports were true, but added that he supports attempts to foster communication with Russian Federation. "Any way that you can communicate with people, particularly organizations that are maybe not particularly friendly to us, is a good thing and, again, it comes back to whatever the communication is, comes back into the government and shared across the government; so, it's not a bad thing to have multiple communication lines to any government", he said. Kushner is alleged to have spoken with Russia's ambassador to the US about setting up a back-channel communications network with Moscow during the presidential transition. "Whenever you see the words "sources say" in the fake news media, and they don't mention names it is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers".

The Democratic Party and elements within the intelligence apparatus seized on the press reports to escalate their anti-Russian campaign and suggest that Kushner, if not Trump himself, had committed treason.

That this allegation is being seized on to escalate the campaign against Trump highlights the fact that the political conflict centers on issues of USA imperialist foreign policy-in particular, the efforts, led by the Democrats, to whip up an anti-Russian frenzy so as to justify an escalation of the war in Syria and a possible military conflict with nuclear-armed Russia, which could quickly lead to a nuclear Third World War.

Steve Kerr's NBA Finals Status 'Up in the Air'
Maybe even death and taxes aren't certain anymore; science, medicine, global warming, politics throwing everything up in the air. James was 0-4 from three point range heading into the 4th quarter, and he altered his strategy to better suit the team's needs.

The Senate intelligence committee, which is investigating Russia's meddling in the 2016 USA presidential election, has requested information and documents from Trump's campaign dating back to July 2015, the AP and other news outlets confirmed. #FakeNews is the enemy!

Trump doesn't embody what's wrong with Washington. "We're just not going to comment". "The White House could use his perspective and long-range vision". "So generally speaking about back-channel communications, what that allows you to do is to communicate in a discreet manner".

During the Monica Lewinsky investigation, the Clinton White House brought on a dedicated group of lawyers and a created a separate media operation to handle investigation-related inquiries so they didn't completely subsume the president's agenda. Also at that meeting was retired Army Gen. Michael Flynn, who'd serve ever-so briefly as Trump's first national security adviser before having to step aside because of questions over his contacts with Kislyak.

Senator Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat and member of the Foreign Relations Committee, described the latest allegations involving Kushner as "serious" and called for a thorough investigation. And his instincts are so out of tune that he reportedly advised Trump that firing FBI Director James Comey would be a sure political win, rather than the equivalent of opening the gates of Hell. "I don't trust this story as far as I can throw it", he said.
