Trump wishes Comey luck, allies aim at lawman's credibility

President Donald Trump has this to say about the upcoming congressional testimony from fired FBI Director James Comey: "I wish him luck".

Coats made the same claim when asked by the Senate Armed Services Committee last month about reports that Trump had pressured him and other intelligence leaders to deny that there was evidence of collusion between his campaign and the Kremlin.

Meeting Republican leaders in the Roosevelt Room, Trump was asked whether he had a message for James Comey, whom he summarily dismissed last month in the middle of an investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the U.S. election previous year, and the possible collusion of Trump campaign aides. Two days earlier, Comey had confirmed in a congressional hearing that the bureau was probing whether Trump's campaign coordinated with Russian Federation during the 2016 race.

Presidents can assert executive privilege to prevent government employees from sharing information.

The former Federal Bureau of Investigation director's testimony is expected to focus on the his interactions with Trump and a series of memos he kept about conversations he had with the President.

Woods talks to officers in video; vehicle had fresh damage
Woods once seemed like a sure bet to surpass him, but he remains second with 14 and has not won a major title since the 2008 U.S. When asked where he was coming from, Woods said, according to USA Today, "Jupiter", but when asked again he said, "LA".

This comes as multiple new reports outline the president's efforts to get the FBI to back off its investigation of former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.

Comey's highly anticipated appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday could be a turning point in a controversy that has rocked Trump's young administration. Trump fired Comey on May 9, saying it was related to improper handling of the Hillary Clinton probe last summer.

Another source, who asked not to be named, said Comey does not see it as his role to charge the president or anyone else with obstruction of justice or any other crime.

Oversight of the Russian Federation probe was left with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who last month appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller to lead the inquiry as the Justice Department's special counsel. Trump joked during the gathering that his aide "has become much more famous than me".

Faith and Freedom spokesman Lance Lemmonds says the president is expected to speak at 12:30 p.m. EDT. Do you believe President Trump was trying to obstruct justice? Hale said in a statement: "Director Coats does not discuss his private conversations with the President".
