Climate decision could accelerate damage to Trump properties

The meeting had been scheduled long before Trump's decision on the Paris Agreement, but the timing sent a clear message about who will lead the fight to address climate change in the coming years.

President Trump badly underestimated the political and diplomatic blowback from withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement.

American experts have warned that US withdrawal from the Paris climate accord will pose a big threat to public health.

"Cable news shows consistently ignore and exclude the voices of people of color when covering climate change, and that's a real problem", said Lisa Hymas, Media Matters' Climate and Energy Program Director.

The bills outlines several strategies, plans, and advancements to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the worldwide treaty's goals.

"So there might still be hope", he said.

"We're not doing this just for ourselves, not for now, but for future generations, and I think that should resonate in most people's minds and hearts", he said. The 250-foot ship with six laboratories has technology to prevent any waste entering the sea or the atmosphere.

Benintendi hits 2 HRs to help Red Sox beat Orioles 7-3
He made his first start of the season May 29 against the White Sox, lasting five innings and giving up three runs on two hits. He injured the knee after falling during warmups for his start Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles .

After over 250 U.S. mayors expressed their continued support for the Paris Agreement, states are also starting to take action.

Governors in those states have pledged to abide by the tenants of the Paris agreement.

Trump said on Thursday that the landmark 2015 climate agreement threatened millions of jobs and productivity, and that he would start a multi-year process to withdraw from the deal, which has been signed by nearly every other nation on Earth.

"As President Trump was announcing that the USA will withdraw from the Paris Accord, a number of governors-and mayors-reaffirmed their commitment to reducing carbon emissions, pledging deep cuts within their boundaries and proposing more inter-state collaboration", said Barry Rabe, U-M professor of public policy and director of the Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy.

Privately, the Canadian government does not believe Trump will change his mind about the Paris plan, which was signed by 195 nations in 2015 with an aim to keeping global warming to below 2 degrees C. Instead, it will seek out state and city allies in the USA who still support Paris. Small businesses in the clean energy sector say they expect demand for their services to keep growing. Raw material prices for homes (wood), cars (steel, aluminum, rubber) and our food will climb as the climate changes, increasing weather volatility and changing weather patterns. Stop building new fossil fuel projects.

The vast majority of Americans - seventy percent of us - want to stay is this agreement endorsed by virtually the whole world. Across the Great Plains, it's now cheaper to get power from wind turbines than coal plants. "But, it will not impact our commitment to fulfil the Paris agreement".

In The Nation, Mark Hertsgaard summed up the stakes: "This is murder", he wrote of the administration's decision, "even if Trump's willful ignorance of climate science prevents him from seeing it".
