MK Labour Party raise questions over Conservative-DUP deal

In Northern Ireland the political landscape has changed.

The Tories needed 326 seats to win another majority but they fell short and must rely on the DUP to continue to rule. The SDLP and the Ulster Unionists have lost all their Westminster seats.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn urged her to resign and allow him to form a minority administration, declaring: "We are ready to serve this country".

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, who defected to the DUP from the UUP at the same time Ms Foster did in 2003, said his party would work with the Tories.

Among Tory MPs there was anger at the way a 20-point lead in the opinion polls when she called the election in had been squandered in the course of a campaign which was widely condemned as flat-footed and uninspiring.

Davidson's Scottish Conservatives went from one seat to 13 in the election, giving the national party one of its few success stories on the night.

The strongly conservative DUP is also implacably opposed to abortion.

In reality, the MP said the issue was likely to come to a head in an angry meeting of the Conservative backbenchers' 1922 committee next week: "I'm buying popcorn makers because I'm going to make a fortune".

In a resignation statement on the Conservative Home website, Timothy conceded that the campaign had failed to communicate "Theresa's positive plan for the future", and missed signs of surging support for the opposition Labour Party.

Sale Struggles, But Marrero Hits 2 HRs To Lift Red Sox
Whenever you question a Joe Maddon decision you always have to preface it with the disclaimer about what a great manager Joe is. On the other side of the ball, it did not prove to be as daunting a task as most thought it would be to score runs off Sale.

The stunning election result comes after a campaign in which May lost popularity over her style and some of her social care policies, including a so-called "dementia tax" that would force the elderly to pay more for their care.

"She doesn't shy from hard decisions but she now has to obviously consider her position".

"I have always believed we are stronger when we appeal to the middle ground".

May's authority over her party was shattered by the election result. The DUP fervently supported United Kingdom withdrawal from the European Union, receiving over US$500,000 from a shadowy group with connections to Saudi Arabian intelligence to support their campaigning efforts. "I mean look where we are for god's sakes".

Asked if Mrs May would still be in Downing Street at the end of the year, Mr Jones told BBC Wales: "That's impossible for me to say, and is probably impossible for anyone else to say too".

The British currency lost as much as 3 cents against the dollar late Thursday and early Friday, to fall as low as $1.2636 in Asian trading hours after the final results started trickling in.

Facing down calls to stand down by Labour and the Lib Dems, a defiant Mrs May has made a decision to cling on to power by forming a minority Conservative government.

He said the Conservatives were lucky to have an alliance with a party "who are prepared to put the country first" and back Brexit.

The former Lib Dem leader and deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg, spoke out about the need for the government to be sensitive about huge societal divisions as he was defeated by Labour in Sheffield Hallam.
