Garry Monk: "All the boxes were ticked at Middlesbrough"

Garry Monk:

The former Swansea City boss had Leeds challenging for a play-off place throughout the campaign and they only missed out on a top-six place in the closing weeks.

The coach's arrival and three-year contract was announced on Friday, and in his media unveiling at the Riverside Stadium he stated that Boro's return to the top-flight is the main ambition of his tenure.

But Monk said: "It's important to keep your best players". His determination was something that really struck me.

"Next was to look and try and find that right challenge that I wanted and the boxes ticked that I needed, and everything that I wanted was clear with Middlesbrough".

Monk led Leeds to the brink of the Championship play-offs last season and claims he was not looking to quit when they missed out on the top six but only made a decision to move on when new owner Andrea Radrizzani came in.

Henk Timmer says that there is interest in the ex-Manchester United man, but the 44-year-old wants to remain with the Royals.

Trump commits to NATO mutual defense after hesitating
He did not specifically mention Article 5, which has only been invoked once, after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Iohannis became the third European head of state who Trump received in the Oval Office.

"To be honest, it wasn't right for me". It didn't suit me.

As far as his the thought process that went into opting for Middlesbrough is concerned, Monk said that after weighing upall his options he decided that the job ticked all the boxes. "I've signed for three years but I want to do it in the first year".

Hull have appointed former Russian Federation boss Leonid Slutsky as their new head coach.

Monk insists that the prospect of leading Boro back up to the Premier League at the first attempt is the right challenge for him.

Leeds fans... Do you believe Monk?

"It is about looking who is here, assessing them and maybe trying to add to the squad".
