Final tests loom for Federer and Kvitova

"I would say that's the best performance I've seen from Roger Federer this season", Barry Cowan applauds the 18-time Grand Slam champion after his flawless display of grass-court tennis in Halle.

He earned a second break point with some deft volleying, which he pounced on to race through the first set in 24 minutes.

Switzerland's Roger Federer wipes away sweat during his match against Germany's Mischa Zverev at the Gerry Weber Open tennis tournament in Halle, Germany, Thursday, June 22.

Federer will now surely start Wimbledon as favourite in search of his eighth title, having been cut to 2/1 by Sky Bet. Federer won the first meeting between the two on the clay courts of Rome in 2016, winning in straight sets, but the pair's second meeting at Halle past year at the semi-final stage was won by Zverev, which he won in three sets.

Cilic saved the first match point against him with an ace, and a second with a forehand volley, before a wide forehand saw Lopez take his chance at the third attempt.

Prior to Sunday's final, Halle already represented the happiest of hunting grounds for the 18-time grand slam champion; Federer has won more tournaments in the German city than any other.

North Korea conducts another rocket engine test
Intercontinental ballistic missiles have a minimum range of about 5,500km but some are created to travel 10,000km or farther. In September 2016, Pyongyang carried out another nuclear test, while more than 20 missiles were test-fired during the year.

Zverev defeated Roberto Bautista Agut 6-7 (6), 7-6 (1), 6-1, while Gasquet beat Robin Haase 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.

Federer, 35, has yet to drop a set after three matches in Halle this week while his win on Friday took his head-to-head record against Mayer to 8-0, with five of those wins coming on grass.

While Zverev is 15 years younger than the Swiss, Federer also mentioned that he is looking to extend his career as much as possible.

20-year-old Zverev, who had defeated Federer in last year's semi-final, was no match for the Swiss in the summit clash.

His huge serve was on full display when he won the 's-Hertogenbosch title on grass last week and once again he used it to devastating effect against Querrey. "Of course I'm upset with the loss, but going into Wimbledon I feel very confident I can make a deep run there".

"I'm pleased with how I am playing".
