Ravi Shastri sentiment gains ground in BCCI

Former Sanjay Manjrekar joined the Virat Kohli-Anil Kumble discussion as India is waiting for their new head coach and said that it is best if Kohli is taken into the loop while a new coach is being appointed.

Former India bowler Venkatesh Prasad has applied for the job of India's head coach joining the likes of Ravi Shastri and Virender Sehwag, among others. However, I am very much keen to contribute to Indian cricket as an assistant coach or a bowling coach. It is learnt that former Indian seamer Venkatesh Prasad, who is now the junior national chief selector, has also applied for the job of India's coach. "I can work under Ravi Shastri or Virender Sehwag or whoever becomes the head coach and bring in my experiences as an worldwide cricketer and a former coach", Prasad told Cricbuzz.

Indian cricket team fielding coach R Sridhar feels that Ravi Shastri and Anil Kumble are two different personalities and their way of leading a side can not be compared.

Also, the BCCI CEO didn't let CoA know anything about extending the deadline to apply for the India coach to July 9 too.

The 47-year-old will now be competing against former India team director Ravi Shastri, former India opener Virender Sehwag, former Australia allrounder Tom Moody, current Afghanistan head coach Lalchand Rajput, West Indies director of cricket Richard Pybus and former Test player Dodda Ganesh.

Prime Minister to march in Canada's largest Pride parade today
We can no longer support spaces where a force that can kill us, with impunity, is allowed to patrol a day of celebration. Groups with messages opposing police at Pride made their presence known at parades in Chicago and Seattle as well.

Here are some of the angry reactions to the news of Ravi Shastri's application:Do you think Ravi Shastri will become Team India's head coach?

This after Anil Kumble-Virat Kohli split and the former stepped down as the coach of the Indian team on the 20th of June. "Which is something I am quite keen about and hope CAC (Cricket Advisory Committee) will take a note of it", Firstpost quoted Prasad as saying.

Interestingly, Team India fielding coach R Sridhar has already compared Shastri's working style to that of Kumble.

"Pl apply for Indian cricket coach". He said, "May be I will write, but this is what I am very keen about (the support staff job)".
