Britain on standby for last-minute Donald Trump visit

The address to Parliament usually mentions planned state visits but last month's edition only contained a reference to welcoming King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain in July, despite the Prime Minister extending an invitation to the U.S. president just a week after his inauguration.

According to a source close to the White House Theresa May's team are on standby for a visit, which may be confirmed only 24 hours in advance so anti-Trump protesters won't have time to disrupt a visit.

On his tour of Europe, Trump is breaking with tradition by visiting Poland ahead of the G20 summit, before he makes a presidential visit to traditional allies Britain, France or Germany.

A formal state visit invitation on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II had been accepted by Trump during May's visit to Washington in January but plans for him to visit around August/September were reportedly postponed last month.

Both the British government at Westminster and the Scottish government in Edinburgh are "on alert" for a "drop in" visit by the President to one of his Scottish golf courses, the paper said.

THE WHITE House has dismissed the rumour Donald Trump is planning on making a surprise visit to Britain this month.

"We expect him to go to his golf course".

Paul George Trade Rumors: Talks Between Celtics, Pacers Reportedly Ongoing
IN is desirous of the young players and future draft picks that Boston is uniquely able to offer the Pacers for George. The Celtics , though, do not have a good read on whether George would be open to staying in Boston after next season.

The smaller visit would have taken the place of the official state appearance, with the intention of allowing Trump to enter and leave the country without fanfare and without protest.

"Stop Trump" campaigner and Guardian columnist Owen Jones appealed to his followers on Twitter on Sunday, encouraging people to protest against Trump, whom he described as a "bigot".

Separately, Trump's tweets about London Mayor Sadiq Khan in the aftermath of the London Bridge terrorist attack drew condemnation from across the British political spectrum, prompting Khan to call on the British government to cancel Trump's visit.

'We have to prove him wrong.

The White House has denied today's reports of an unofficial visit, with White House press secretary Sean Spicer telling the Financial Times, "While he looks forward to visiting the United Kingdom, it will not be in the next two weeks".

He said: 'The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House.
