AMD breaches the high-end GPU market with Radeon RX Vega

The folks at AMD have a bunch of new bits of hardware to show this week with new Radeon RX Vega cards. Peak single- and half-precision compute performance rises to 13.7 TFLOPS and 27.5 TFLOPS respectively with a TDP of 345W. There are three RX Vegas being offered: the RX Vega; RX Vega; and RX Vega Liquid Cooled Edition.

Chances are that Nvidia also refreshes its GPU line-up, which could mean that GTX 1080 prices might go down, this will make it more appealing.

The Radeon RX Vega 56 includes the 56 Compute Units, 3584 stream processors, 8GB of HBM2 RAM for storage objective. This graphics card will have 12.66 TFLOPS, 64 compute units, 4,096 stream processors, and 8GB of advanced HBM2 memory, 484GBps of bandwidth and will be clocked at 1,247MHz with a boost clock of 1,546MHz.

If you're familiar with this topic, then you know that the AMD Radeon RX Vega is going to be launched soon, namely at Siggraph this weekend. Hopefully PCPer will be covering more than the SIGGRAPH/RX Vega Radeon news and will also be offering more coverage of AMD's SIGGRAPH related Vega Professional GPU demonstrations where Vega's HBCC/HBC IP will be covered in greater detail. AMD Radeon RX Vega family comprises of three cards, all of which are based on the Vega 10 GPU. AMD says the technology offers 60 percent more memory bandwidth than GDDR5 RAM, which is found in all of Nvidia's modern video cards save for the highest-end GPUs (the GTX 1080, 1080 Ti, Titan X and Titan Xp use GDDR5X memory). That may not be the silky-smooth 60fps you'd like, but remember that it's only the lowest framerate you'll see, and notably, it's higher than the 45fps Nvidia's GTX 1080 is capable of on the same screen and selection of games. The Limited Edition will be available till the stocks last. AMD has also added $100 discount if the Radeon Pack buyers decide to buy Ryzen 7 1800X processor along with AMD 370X motherboard.

China urges India to pull back its troops to resolve border standoff
India responded to the call by sending troops last month to evict the Chinese army construction party from the Doklam Plateau. He added that China's ability to defend its territory and sovereignty has "constantly strengthened".

On Sunday, AMD announced the pricing and release dates of two new product lines that could prove to be worthy alternatives to Intel's Core i7 processor and Nvidia's high-end GTX graphics card.

There is also a Radeon RX Vega 64 Liquid Cooled Edition which has an integrated closed-loop liquid cooler with a 120mm radiator, but is otherwise no different from its namesake. Those who want a liquid-cooled version of the Vega 64 will have to opt for a Radeon Pack.

This card uses 16GB of HBCC, HBM2 error correcting code (ECC) memory revolutionizing professional work precisions, since WX 9100 Pro is a significant improvement over AMD's previous generation cards, boasting 51% more memory bandwidth.
