Most enhancements will be to Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) - Microsoft's threat detection and protection service that is part of Windows 10 Enterprise, and which will bundle together Defender Application Guard (WDAG), Windows Defender Device Guard, and Windows Defender Antivirus.

It's official. In about six weeks, Microsoft's servers will start pushing out the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to users worldwide.

Microsoft didn't reveal any new features on stage, but instead chose to remind us of features we already know about.

The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will support the Windows Mixed Reality headsets and this is a big thing since the Windows 10 will be one of the first to offer native support for AR/VR.

Technically billed as mixed reality products, these will essentially work the same way as a Rift or Vive, beaming the user into a "new reality" by combining "physical and digital worlds".

Prices for Mixed Reality headsets start at $299 and go up from there. Microsoft says that it will now be able to defend against new ransomware and exploits behind the scenes through the cloud.

Lenovo actually showed off its headset during IFA 2017 called The Explorer, which will cost $350. Instead of using lighthouses, sensors, or a camera, the Mixed Reality sets for Windows 10 will have "inside-out" spatial tracking that relies on internal cameras, along with accelerometers within the controllers and linking sensors to the headset for positional awareness and motion tracking.
