Volvo's performance brand Polestar to turn electric by 2019

"Polestar 1 is the first vehicle to carry the Polestar on the bonnet". The pure electric coupe hybrid is promising 600 horsepower and class-leading range and efficiency.

Making its debut earlier this week, the Polestar 1 is the first vehicle from the standalone brand now that it has officially separated from Volvo. Polestar will have access to Volvo's deep knowledge base, engineering expertise and platform technologies, helping it to launch vehicles more efficiently than a brand-new independent automaker. The Polestar 1 is a two-door, 2+2 seat Grand Tourer Coupé with an "Electric Performance Hybrid" drivetrain. In line with its modernization process, the Polestar 1 will employ the phone as a key method of accessing the auto, which means that an app can give access to the vehicle, with no need for a key.

Next up for the brand is the Polestar 2.

In addition to the hybrid powertrain 1 Polestar is equipped with a new continuously controlled electronic suspension hlins, which allows the driver to change suspension settings for better ride and control depending on road and weather conditions.

Use CSR funds to strengthen Ayurveda system: PM
He said his government was focusing on integrating the public healthcare system with ayurveda and yoga. Modi also reiterated the importance of cleanliness as a part of preventive healthcare.

Following the Polestar 2 will be-you guessed it-a Polestar 3. It will be called as the Polestar 1 and the production is expected to start by mid-2019.

The Polestar 1 will also form part of a new scheme which the manufacturer says will move away from the traditional model of vehicle ownership.

For example, China plans to set goals for electric and plug-in hybrid cars to make up at least a fifth of local sales by 2025, with a staggered system of quotas beginning in 2018. However, Polestar also recognises that customers still want to physically engage with the brand so Polestar will open a network of Polestar Spaces around the world. Both will be battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

"We believe that subscription is the future", said Jonathan Goodman, Polestar's chief operating officer. It will be available for order exclusively online on a two or three year zero-deposit monthly subscription basis, an all inclusive package to include pick-up and delivery servicing and the option to rent other models in the Volvo and Polestar range.
