Treat New York terrorist as enemy combatant, say some USA lawmakers

President Donald Trump railed against a U.S. visa program following Tuesday's truck attack in New York City.

The police have identified the suspect as Sayfullo Saipov, an Uzbek immigrant who arrived in the United States in 2010, earned a green card, and worked as an Uber driver and a truck driver. Attorneys from the organization said on Wednesday, "Guantánamo Bay is and always has been a prison exclusively for Muslims, which is undoubtedly the only reason Donald Trump made the idiotic suggestion to send Sayfullo Saipov there". In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, McCain said: "The terrorist attack in NY is the latest brutal, horrific example of the war that radical Islamist extremists are waging against our nation and our way of life".

"I am going to ask Congress to immediately initiate work to get rid of this program, diversity lottery", Trump said. "It's not nice. It's not good".

Graham called on Trump to hold Sayfullo Saipov without access to an attorney so he can be questioned by US intelligence about the Halloween attack.

"We need quick justice and we need strong justice", he said.

Man United's incredible defensive record at Old Trafford following Spurs shutout
Manchester United's win lifted them up to second place in the table and two points behind leaders Manchester City, who face West Brom later on Saturday.

"We're so politically correct that we're afraid to do anything", he said.

"Look, that's maybe something that's looked at, but that isn't something that we've called for at this time, but we certainly haven't ruled it out", spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said at a regular briefing. "What we have right now is a joke". Law enforcement authorities said the suspect in followed an ISIS playbook to carry out the attack. "There's enough evidence to believe that he qualifies as an enemy combatant under the law of war". "From Orlando to San Bernardino and Boston to Manhattan, we must not consider these attacks on our homeland in isolation, but rather recognize them for what they are: acts of war".

"As such, the NY terror suspect should be held and interrogated - thoroughly, responsibly, and humanely - as an enemy combatant consistent with the Law of Armed Conflict". "The last thing he should hear is his Miranda rights", Graham told Fox News.

In a statement, McCain said the Trump administration should inform Congress as soon as possible about how it planned to treat Saipov.
