Apple to miss holiday season with HomePod speaker

"HomePod packs powerful speaker technology, Siri intelligence and wireless access to the entire Apple Music library into a attractive speaker that is less than 7 inches tall, can rock most any room with distortion-free music and be a helpful assistant around your home". The company has long-term plans for the HomePod, after all.

Knowing Apple and their delays, the HomePod could take time before hitting the stores.

Apple HomePod will be its first big new hardware product since the Apple Watch.

The speaker is cylindrical in shape, just like the Amazon Echo, but the HomePod features an array of seven speaker tweeters, six microphone array, and a four-inch subwoofer. A Google Home Mini costs $49, but the company is also coming out with a higher-end version for $399.

Saying it needs "a little more time" before it's ready, Apple has delayed the release of the tech giant's much-anticipated HomePod smart speaker until after the holidays. "We'll start shipping in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia in early 2018". They can play music, spit out trivia, manage shopping lists and put things on your calendar.

The former get sound flowing throughout the room; the later detect voice commands starting with "Hey Siri" to perform tasks ranging from playing music to driving HomeKit-compatible devices such as Philips Hue LED lighting.

Ezekiel Elliott Withdrawing All Appeals & Will Serve 6-Game Suspension
They're already three games behind the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East, and play the Eagles on Sunday night without Elliott. The NFLPA still has the option to pursue its lawsuit against the NFL even with Elliott accepting the terms of the suspension.

Once it eventually launches, the Apple HomePod will be available for £349 - more than twice the price of Google Home and the Amazon Echo combined at the time of writing.

Apple announced the device at its developer conference in June.

Apple's AI-based home speaker project, HomePod appears to be stuck with some delays and the product may be launched only next year.

People use voice assistants more often on smart speakers than on phones, so even if owners of Amazon or Google speakers also have an iPhone, there's a good chance that they're talking to Alexa or Google Assistant as much or more than Siri.

It's unclear why the product has been delayed, but it will miss the holiday rush.
