Sheriff: Search underway for missing 3-year-old girl in Jacksonville

The search continues on day three for missing North Carolina 3-year-old Mariah Woods.

Authorities are still searching for the missing 3-year-old girl from Onslow County, North Carolina that prompted an Amber Alert on Monday.

Mariah stands at about 2 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs aorund 30 pounds. She is very sweet loving girl. long brown hair, blue eyes.

Mariah lived with her mother and her mother's live-in boyfriend, and was reported missing on Monday at 6 a.m, WXII12 reported. "My last memory of her was feeding her and putting her to bed", mother Kristy Woods told reporters. Goes by Mariah. She has walking difficulties, so if anybody sees her.

The girl's mother, Kristy Woods, said she last saw her at about 11 p.m. Sunday.

Family members said the girl has an orthopedic leg problem, so when she walks her left leg is thrown around and causes her to wobble. Woods said. "Nobody heard anything? She's my baby, she's my everything".

Around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, the Onslow County Sheriff's Office confirmed the girl was not Mariah.

Family members said there was no sign of forced entry or anything wrong with Mariah's room.

Family companion Anne Edwards revealed to NBC offshoot WRAL that it would be odd for Mariah to go out so effectively.

Alex Woods is the biological father of Mariah Woods and her two brothers.

Ms Woods said her daughter was a "little angel" with a talkative personality.
