Pamela Anderson responds to backlash over Harvey Weinstein comments

Pamela Anderson is not apologizing for her comments to Megyn Kelly about Harvey Weinstein's accusers. Anderson is no stranger to being smeared over the media regarding the things she's said and done over the years and so knows how to handle it with grace and a poise that belies what she might really be feeling inside.

She called it "totally hypocritical" to ignore the issue of women being given the tools to identify harmful situations and defend themselves, and added that "it is not helping anyone to ignore the realities in the society we live in".

The Baywatch actress sat down for a candid interview on the USA breakfast show Megyn Kelly Today, which aired on Thursday, and during the chat, she revealed she has always steered clear of certain industry figures and wasn't surprised to read about the multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault made against Weinstein.

A portion of her posting read, "Somebody had to say this. There is even a well-known story of suffragettes learning martial arts", she told TMZ.

In a follow up post she wrote: 'I do NOT wish apologise for what I said, and will not get coerced into apology.

Discussing her own experiences with the "intimidating" Weinstein, she says she was not surprised by the allegations that came out against him: "I think it was common knowledge that certain producers and certain people in Hollywood are people to avoid, privately".

His minor injuries were consistent with the claim, which was further corroborated by a video he took during the reported assault. She asked for primary custody of their son, but they reconciled not long after and Naya withdrew her request for sole custody.

Kelly then pointed out that numerous meetings were set up by agents, to which Anderson said that was "not a good excuse".

On being informed that the meetings of the complainants were scheduled by their agents and that they had hardly anything to do with the venue or time, the Baywatch actor briskly replied that those women should have gone to the meetings along with their agents.

"Don't go into a hotel room alone", she continued. If someone answers the door in a bathrobe, leave. Anderson elaborated on her unwillingness to apologize, writing on her Instagram, "I'm a deep thinker / I have a unique perspective. and outcome is part of my life".

"I, myself, am a victim of sexual abuse, and I know that predators are always to blame - exclusively and entirely", she wrote in an earlier blog entry.

"When I came to Hollywood, of course, I had a lot of offers to do private auditions and things that made absolutely no sense", Anderson said. I am talking to an invisible dog. And I just didn't want to do it that way. I believe in love and commitment and common sense.
