Santa Claus is coming to our hometowns! WDBJ7 tracks Santa with NORAD

New York Air National Guardsmen and Royal Canadian Air Force personnel from the Eastern Air Defense Sector will play a key role Christmas Eve as the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) tracks Santa Claus and his reindeer.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command has been tracking the guy in the red suit since December 1 and parents can use the NORAD Tracks Santa website, www.noradsanta.org, to help keep little ones busy until December 25.

You can also keep track of Santa on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The NORAD Tracks Santa website, www.noradsanta.org, launched on December 1. Bing and Cortana users can also find Santa's location on December 24.

After that, he shoots up to Japan, over to Asia, across to Africa, then onto Western Europe, Canada, the United States, Mexico and Central and South America.

WDBJ7 is tracking Santa with NORAD!

NORAD's tradition of tracking Santa began in 1955 with a misprint in a sears ad. Instead of calls ringing to Santa, the phone number rang the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD), the precursor to NORAD.

She also said, get in bed by 9 p.m.to make sure Santa can deliver toys in our hometowns.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command is celebrating the 62nd Anniversary of tracking Santa's yuletide journey! Children who called were given updates on his location, and a tradition was born.
