Winning €5.4m Lotto ticket bought in Dublin Airport

The ticket was purchased in the WH Smith store on Friday, when some 85,000 passengers passed through the airport on its busiest day of the year. Players can purchase a ticket at authorized OLG retailers or buy online at PlayOLG.ca until 10:30 p.m. for the draw that evening.

Mr Griffin urged all players who purchased a ticket in Dublin Airport Terminal 1 on Friday to check their numbers.

National Lottery Spokesperson Miriam Donohoe said: "We don't know at this point who won it - it could be somebody coming home for Christmas; a loved one, possibly, at the airport to meet & greet somebody coming home; or indeed an airport worker. We are thrilled to be making this a very Merry Christmas indeed for a player or players", he added.
