Giants suspend CB Eli Apple for Week 17

Eli Apple's very hard sophomore National Football League season is over.

Apple was informed of his suspension by interim general manager Kevin Abrams and interim head coach Steve Spagnuolo. "I never stop supporting my brother/teammate Eli and the rest of my teammates as we move forward. Just want him to know I'm always here for him".

But this wasn't the first time Collins has publicly criticized Apple.

Well, not quite. The damage is certainly done, and Collins ended up playing a small role in that.

Make no mistake: Apple's presence has gotten in the way of their performance. But he is a reason, one of many, for their ineptitude.

But when Apple was asked how Collins' reassurance had affected him, Apple said the safety hadn't done what he said.

'I Never Even Wavered' On Gorsuch, WaPo Sources 'Don't Exist'
Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said the Supreme Court nominee described these attacks as "disheartening" and "demoralizing ". Ironically, the judge sent Trump a fawning, handwritten note praising him and thanking him for the nomination on March 2.

New York Giants second-year cornerback Eli Apple has been suspended for the team's season finale against the Washington Redskins, the team announced this afternoon.

While there was tension between Apple and former head coach Ben McAdoo, it appears that wasn't the entire problem with his time in NY.

"There's only just one corner that. needs to grow, and we all know who that is", Collins told fill-in host Bob Wischusen. "That would be the only person I would change out of our secondary". But that first pick? We'll see where things go from here, but having an impressive and respected veteran like Collins call you a "cancer" in a radio interview probably isn't a good sign for your career.

Apple has been an issue all year for the Giants, arguing with coaches and teammates and suffering through a demotion in October for poor conduct during practice.

Apple then returned to retrieve a towel from his locker. He's dealt with a hip injury and had a reported blow-up at coaches during a critical film session. The G-Men have paid Apple a boatload of cash to play the game at the highest level, and the return on investment has been questionable at best in 2017.

Collins sustained a fractured forearm while tackling D.J. Foster in the second quarter of Sunday's 23-0 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
