Woman accused of ruining $300K of artwork while drunk on 1st date

A 29-year-old woman on a first date with a prominent Houston lawyer is accused of causing damage to two works of art by Andy Warhol valued at $500,000 each.

Lindy Lou Layman was arrested on December 23 on criminal mischief charges after allegedly damaging several painting and sculptures in Anthony Buzbee's River Oaks home.

KHOU-TV reported Layman was on a first date with Buzbee, with the lawyer at one point having called Layman an Uber after she became intoxicated. "According to court documents, the resulting damage cost at least $300,000".

The suspect allegedly tore down two original Andy Warhol paintings each worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, the news station reported.

Buzbee told police that Layman refused to leave and hid in his 11,000-square foot home, which the Harris County appraisal district values at more than $9.4 million, that reportedly has five fireplaces and limestone floors. Layman is accused of pouring wine onto three paintings and tearing others off the wall. "She didn't." Buzbee's jailed date was later released on $30,000 bond.

The punishment for a felony criminal mischief conviction in Texas depends on the amount of damage the defendant caused.

Parents Pout Over Ivanka's Surprise Visit To Elementary School
A group of parents pulled their kids from class after they learned that Ivanka Trump was making a surprise visit to their school. Here's hoping that, next time, the school gives parents enough warning about controversial visitors...

Layman's LinkedIn profile says she has worked as a freelance court reporter.

But he is said to have "completely" done with the candidacy after video surfaced of Trump bragging about grabbing women by the p***y.

Buzbee is known for leading the defense in an abuse of power case against former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Buzbee claimed that he was planning to write in veteran Dan Moran on his election ballot in October 2016.

Buzbee also made headlines a year ago for parking a tank outside of his home, causing a brief fight with his homeowner's association.
