Trump aide Stephen Miller rips Wolff book as 'grotesque work of fiction'

During the contentious interview, Miller offered largely combative responses and focused on presenting Trump as a "political genius," repeatedly refusing to answer questions until Tapper chose to cut him off and move to the next segment.

In the book, Bannon predicted that the special counsel investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation would "crack" the younger Trump "like an egg on national TV". He returned to the fray on Sunday as he prepared to leave Camp David, the presidential retreat in rural Maryland, to return to Washington after meetings with Republican lawmakers and members of his cabinet.

"I went from VERY successful businessman, to top TV Star to President of the United States (on my first try)", he tweeted.

The White House and President Trump have denounced Bannon and the book since excerpts began leaking last week.

Trump again slammed the book on Twitter Sunday morning and appeared to reference questions raised about the mental fitness of former President Ronald Reagan, who disclosed in 1994 that he had Alzheimer's disease.

But he added that the president's aides refuse to confront him.

LaVar Ball: Lakers coach Luke Walton 'doesn't have control' of team
The Lakers are on a nine-game losing streak, and losing has often brought about LaVar Ball's public critiques. Only, the interview continued, and at one point, Ball was asked plainly if he likes Walton as a coach.

United States president Donald Trump and his aides have hit back at speculation about the president's mental health as controversy over an explosive book on his presidency continued over the weekend.

"The author is a garbage author of a garbage book", said Miller, explaining that the depiction of the President was contrary to his own experience.

In recent says, Bannon has tried to convince allies that all will be okay - even texting "Onward!" to one of them - but seems jolted and "even more manic than normal", in the words of one person who has spoken to him. Bannon referred to a 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr and a Russian Federation lawyer at Trump Tower as "treasonous" and suggested that it was highly likely that Trump Jr told his father about the meeting.

In his book, Wolff relied heavily on on-the-record interviews with Bannon, who was critical of other White House aides and Trump's children.

About halfway through the interview, things really got heated as Miller continued to dodge Tapper's questions. Miller said Tapper was "condescending", and seconds later, Tapper said Miller wasn't answering the questions and ended the interview.

Miller ducked Tapper's other questions about Trump's recent tweets, Bannon's influence on Trump's presidency and policy and a New York Times report in September 2017 that Miller in May helped compose a list of reasons to fire James Comey as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He urged his followers to "watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!"
