Afghanistan to play first-ever Test against India in Bengaluru

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said it welcomed the opportunity to host its "friends" for their first Test since Afghanistan became a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) a year ago. "All thet factored in, Bengalury emerged as the finest choice for us".

Afghanistan have earned their Test status in June previous year.

Both country's cricket boards announced the news on their respective twitter accounts.

"This question has been popping up every now and then (about playing and hosting day-night Test) and rightly so. India are proud to host Afghanistan now", Choudhary added. "A decision will be taken sooner than later but not in the context of this Test match against Afghanistan", said Choudhary while announcing the dates of Afghanistan's inaugural Test in Bengaluru from June 14-18.
