Apple Addresses Meltdown and Spectre in macOS

But the new patch brings in all the protections offered by the High Sierra update to macOS version running Sierra 10.12.6 and El Capitan 10.11.6.

Less-hyped, but still serious, are vulnerabilities in the macOS kernel that include an exploitable race condition (CVE-2018-4092), a validation issue (CVE-2018-4093), and memory initialization bug (CVE-2018-4090) that could also allow restricted memory to be read. Each of the new operating system releases includes bug fixes and stability improvements, following Apple's rush to address Spectre and Meltdown processor vulnerabilities in an earlier point-point release.

Cupertino did whack out a patch for macOS High Sierra pretty soon after the Meltdown and Spectre flaws came to light. It also fixes an issue with an SMB server.

The security update is included with macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 and it is also available as a separate security update for users of Sierra on 10.12.6 and El Capitan on 10.11.6.

Also notable is the fix for the recently reported bug that could cause Messages in iOS, macOS, and watchOS to crash or otherwise fail to work if it received a maliciously crafted URL (see "Messages App Plagued by Another Crashing Link Bug", 17 January 2018).

A wise person once said, "don't upgrade to the latest OS X until it's been patched a few times".
