Federal Bureau of Investigation deputy director Andrew McCabe leaving post ahead of planned retirement

McCabe, who will stay on the Federal Bureau of Investigation payroll through March so he can get his pension, made a decision to resign when news of the potential demotion reached him, sources said. He reportedly planned to retire in March. He will step aside, but use his leave until that time.

Doubt it? Remember what, exactly, McCabe did that drew Trump's ire initially: His wife ran for office in Virginia.

But Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that has sued the government for records related to McCabe, said in a Twitter message, "Something must have happened to trigger his abrupt departure".

McCabe has stepped down as the F.B.I.'s deputy director, a move that was widely expected as he has repeatedly come under fire from Republicans in Congress and from President Trump.

During a dinner at the White House on January 27, 2017, Trump asked for a pledge of "loyalty" from James Comey, then the F.B.I. director, who was overseeing the investigation of the Trump campaign.

Trump targeted McCabe with critical tweets after it emerged that his wife had received a campaign contribution for a race in Virginia in 2015 from an ally of Trump rival Hillary Clinton.

In 2016, Japan was the second-largest market outside the USA for Amazon , following Germany, with sales of $10.8 billion. This tie-up represents a pretty clear challenge to Amazon , both in the US and in Japan.

Trump also targeted McCabe for the FBI's investigation into 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while serving as the country's secretary of state.

Once Trump appointed Christopher Wray, McCabe went back to the deputy director position.

Comey was overseeing the bureau's investigation into alleged Russian interference in that year's presidential election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow. But as a civil service employee, McCabe could not be fired without clear evidence of wrongdoing.

The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the newspaper that the IG report looks into actions taken by McCabe and other bureau officials during the campaign, when the FBI was probing both Hillary Clinton and the Trump camp's ties to Russian Federation.

Strzok and Page used words like "idiot" and "loathsome human" to describe Trump during the campaign.
