What Alleged Illegality Is Mueller Investigating? Trump Exercising Lawful Presidential Authority?

Ever since he was appointed as special counsel, there have been questions about how long Robert Mueller will be allowed to stay on the job.

Two influential Republican senators have urged U.S. President Donald Trump to avoid public comments about the special counsel's probe into potential contacts with Russian Federation during his 2016 campaign. It isn't enough to rely on Trump's lawyers, legislation should be passed to ensure if Trump fires Mueller, there will be a process to make sure it was a just firing.

In separate television interviews, Senators Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham expressed dismay at reports the Republican president had told the top White House lawyer to order U.S. Justice Department officials to fire Mueller. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said on ABC's "This Week", adding that "Mr. Mueller is the flawless guy to get to the bottom of all this, and he will".

"I'm sure that there will be an investigation around whether or not President Trump did try to fire Mr Mueller". There is no obstruction whatsoever.

Georgetown Law professor Michael Seidman offered a theory as to why the Mueller story is surfacing all these months later.

Graham declined to speculate on what changed the White House's line of thinking about Mueller.

That reaction is nearly universally negative, as we learned when rumours of Mueller's ouster first surfaced last summer.

The news about Trump's alleged discrediting campaign comes day nearly a day after the New York Times revealed the president ordered Mueller's firing last June but backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than follow his directions.

The company reported $1.10 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, missing the consensus estimate of $1.16 by ($0.06). The company has a market capitalization of $17,270.00, a P/E ratio of 23.97, a PEG ratio of 2.06 and a beta of 0.58.

But in Seidman's view, there's little reason to think that Mueller is any safer today.

So, Senator Graham, you believe the stories about McGahn, about President Trump?

In a separate interview on the same program, West Virginia Democratic Sen.

Experts have argued, Trump has slightly less nuclear options at his disposal too. It is beside the point at this time that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was so negligent in his drafting the appointment of Mueller that he did not limit the investigation in either scope or time.

But the Justice Department sent Nunes a letter last week saying it would be "extraordinarily reckless" to release the memo without giving the Justice Department the opportunity to review it for possible concerns with national security and ongoing investigations. Cornyn are the leads in the Senate, but they've been very open to input. "And that's where the crisis comes", said Seidman.

The New York Times was first to report that Trump called for Mueller's ouster in June 2017.

Following the short-term spending bill that funds the federal government until February 8, a bipartisan group of lawmakers has begun work on legislation to protect "Dreamers" under the DACA program from deportation. "But that's how they talk", Manchin said about Schumer and Trump. If Trump agrees to speak to them, he will not be able to control the direction of the questioning; and if he loses his cool and says things that are dubious or flatly untrue, they will clean his clock.
