Newcastle lining up deadline day bid for Premier League striker

Newcastle United have been on the lookout for a new striker throughout the transfer window and it appears that they may finally have found a player who suits their needs.

And the Gazette reported earlier this month that Slimani was "high" on the club's shortlist.

Keith Downie, a reporter for Sky Sports, reported the player had completed the first part of his medical ahead of a deadline-day deal for the 29-year-old Premier League striker.

West Ham had hoped to land the Algerian worldwide, who cost the Foxes £29million when signing in the summer of 2016, on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Trump 'has been very clear' on what he wants to end shutdown
Senator Lindsey Graham , a Republican pointman on the immigration negotiations, hailed Trump's comments as a major breakthrough. Although Sanders is the third woman to hold the title of White House press secretary , she is the first who is also a mom.

The interest for Belgian football is that Slimani's move failing would also lead to the cancellation of Mitrovic's move to Anderlecht on loan for the rest of the season.

West Ham have already signed Slimani's former Sporting Lisbon team-mate Joao Mario and they are hoping that the connection between the two will convince the Foxes forward to pick the London Stadium over St James' Park.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is desperate for a new striker and missed out on a loan move for Daniel Sturridge this week, while the club have refused to meet Feyenoord's asking price of £22m for Nicolai Jorgensen.
