Nicole Eggert Files Police Report Against Scott Baio Alleging Sexual Assault

Former Baywatch and Charles in Charge star Nicole Eggert has filed a police report against actor Scott Baio, alleging sexual abuse when she was a minor.

As confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by authorities and by Eggert's attorney, Lisa Bloom, Eggert met with detectives from the sexual assault unit at the Los Angeles police department, answering questions and telling her story.

A representative for Baio told TMZ: "We've been demanding since past year that Nicole Eggert bring her story to the authorities". While he denied having a sexual relationship when she was underage, he did say that the two had consensual sex "well after she turned 18". During the interview, actor Alexander Polinsky (who played Adam Powell on the sitcom), was with Eggert and said he witnessed some of the abuse. Bloom also provided detectives with a list of witnesses who claim they observed inappropriate behavior by Baio toward Eggert. Baio brought up a 2013 interview with Nik Richie Radio, in which Eggert claimed that she didn't have sex with Baio until she was 17, though she did say that the two "messed around" prior to that. "Creep", she tweeted, before going into detail about the alleged incident. It was clear; however, how heartbroken Sara was reading the abuse her friend had not only witnessed but also suffered according to his statement. "If anyone else has information about this matter please contact us", Bloomd continued. Since the alleged abuse happened from 1986-1990, TMZ said it's possible the statue of limitations has run out. He has posted video on social media in which he denied her allegations and waved around documents that he says prove she was above the age of consent at the time.

"I was 15 years old standing on the bridge over the L.A. River at Ventura and Vineland in Studio City, and I looked down at that dry river bed and I'm sobbing, I'm sobbing", she tells ET.

The actress first came forward with the accusations against her "Charles in Charge" co-star on January 28.

Baio was quick to come forward with a denial of the accusations against him, first taking to Facebook Live to explain his side of the story, calling Eggert's credibility into question.

Amtrak train collides with CSX freight train in SC
Amtrak officials gathered up luggage and other belongings and within hours put passengers aboard buses to their destinations. A "Go Team" with the National Transportation Safety Board ( NTSB ) is leading the investigation into the incident.

"We've been demanding since a year ago that Nicole Eggert bring her story to the authorities", a statement read. It's good that she finally has, even if it's part of a publicity campaign.

"My reputation is being damaged, my family is being put through this, and I'm done", Baio added.

Baio has previously denied Eggert's sexual abuse allegations, saying she is "provably wrong" and "deliberately lying".

"How any of this could have happened is absolutely impossible".

Reps for Baio and Eggert did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment. "I don't know how anybody can believe what she's saying when her first allegation when [she was] 17 had been proven 100 percent false".
