Sean Hutchison Accused of Sexually Abusing Olympian Ariana Kukors When Underage

A Southern California swim coach said he had reported rumors of former Team USA assistant swim coach Sean Hutchison being in a forbidden relationship with a US champion swimmer at an Olympic training center years ago, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Kukors-a champion swimmer who placed fifth in the 2012 Olympics-says Hutchinson began grooming her once he started coaching her at a Seattle-area swim club.

"He took hundreds or thousands of sexually explicit photographs of her", a Homeland Security agent told SeattlePI, suggesting that Kukors thinks Hutchison may have abused others.

"I never thought I would share my story because, in so many ways, just surviving was enough", the statement said.

'I absolutely deny having any sexual or romantic relationship with her before she was old enough to legally make those decisions for herself. Her allegations come as America's Olympic sports organisations are beset by accusations from victims of former USA Gymnastics team physician Larry Nassar, and members of Congress, of failing to protect aspiring young Olympians from sexual abuse.

'That they may not have to go through the same pain, trauma, horror, and abuse.

Hutchison and Kukors both denied they were having a sexual relationship, which is against policy for USA Swimming, the US governing body of swimming.

Hutchinson and Kukors both denied they were having a sexual relationship, something that would be against United States of America swimming policy.

Kukors' former teammate Margaret Hoelzer said that one reason she retired from swimming was because Hutchinson was a "very emotionally and verbally abusive person" and a "very controlling individual".

I've realized that stories like my own are too important to go unwritten.

Lindsey Vonn overcomes grief to reach Olympics
She was an Olympic champion, in the conversation as the best Alpine skier in history, and then her body was broken. She was going to bring him to Pyeongchang to watch her compete, but he died November 1 at the age of 88.

"We stand by her, and all other victims, in their quest to break their silence and confront their horrific experiences", the statement said. "Prior to that time, I did nothing to "groom" her".

'After the 2012 Olympics we were in a committed relationship and Ariana lived at my residence in Seattle for more than a year. At the time, Hutchison said the reports were untrue. After practice one day when she was 15, he asked about her underwear and started kissing and touching her, Kukors writes. He once put a paper ring on my ring finger that read, 'My lovely Ari, ' and told me he wanted to spend his life with me.

Officials from the Department of Homeland Security and other authorities are now investigating Hutchinson, and on Tuesday they recovered electronic devices from his Seattle apartment that they believe could contain evidence that he sexually exploited swimmers.

Kukor's charges are the latest step in the fall from grace for Hutchison, who less than a decade ago was considered American swimming's brightest rising coaching star. "I had never felt more alone in all my life". "But he said he loved me, and I thought he held the keys to my future - not just to my swimming career, but to my whole life".

Shortly after she turned 18, Kukors said she and Hutchinson traveled to a swim meet out-of-state.

The coach didn't immediately respond to an email for comment Wednesday.

Hutchison, 46, denies abusing Kukors and has not been charged with a crime.

USA Swimming said it sent that case file to the U.S. Center for SafeSport when notified in January of a case against Hutchison.
