'Political outsiders' Trump and Löfven talk North Korea and tariffs

During a joint press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven on Tuesday, President Donald Trump talked about upcoming elections and revealed the ultimate safeguard against Russian meddling: paper.

US President Donald Trump says everybody wants to work in the White House. "With other countries, we don't have that choice", he said, referring to negotiations on the North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA. When asked about urging from Republican leaders including House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., that he back away from his pledge to impose a 25 percent tariff on steel and a 10 percent tariff on aluminum, Trump was defiant, repeating a frequent claim from the campaign trail and even earlier that the US has been taken advantage of by other countries.

Asked by a Swedish journalist whether he was concerned Russian Federation could have an effect on the midterms, Trump insisted during his news conference that the USA would prevent any election interference efforts. "We're going to straighten it out and we'll do it in a very loving way", Trump said. One of the things we're learning, it's always good to have a paper back-up system of voting. "The European Union has not treated us well, and it's been a very, very unfair trade situation". Trump said his statements on this is not new.

Congress and the White House have been at odds over the presidential administration's refusal so far to implement additional sanctions against Russian officials and entities.

"I like having two people with different points of view", Trump said. You dont want your system of votes to be compromised in any way. It's called paper. Not highly complex computers.

ExxonMobil Papua New Guinea managing director Andrew Barry said production at the $19bn project would be restored as quickly as possible.

The accounts' activity did not stop at posting controversial memes and hashtags - many organized events, rallies, and protests, some of which galvanized dozens of people. "Because even they say, right now, they say, "We can't believe we've gotten away".

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said there was concern Trump's plan could lead to such disruptive turmoil. "I like watching it, I like seeing it".

Asked if he was disappointed with Trump, Putin told state TV that he had no such feeling, adding he had a very positive impression of Trump, whom he met on the sidelines of worldwide summits past year.

Trump was adamant that he would proceed with the planned import penalties but said he will do "it in a very loving way", despite mounting opposition from Republicans and world leaders. "I've conveyed that to the President", the PM said. Trump has said talks between the United States and North Korea must only begin after Pyongyang agrees to denuclearization, but on Tuesday said he believes North Korea is being honest in its attempts to broker peace with the South. "The European Union has been particularly tough on the United States". "They're going to a paper backup and I think that's a great idea". Warmbier died shortly after being returned to the U.S. The U.S. has no formal diplomatic relations with North Korea. "And they can do whatever they like, but if they do that then we put a big tax on 25% on their cars".
