Dairy Queen celebrates spring with free cones for a cause

It may not feel like spring just yet, but that doesn't mean you can't celebrate it.

Dairy Queen is celebrating the first day of spring with free ice cones.

You'll want to spring for two frozen freebies Tuesday. Free cones will be available during regular business hours all day long. How about FREE ice cream?

"The First Day of Spring, along with a free cup of Rita's Italian Ice, gives us the flawless opportunity to start the season by bringing a smile to everyone's face".

Flu deaths hit new record, topping 300 in state this season
The flu tends to have a faster onset of symptoms, which can include fevers as high as 104 F, chills, exhaustion and severe aches. Of those deaths, 98 were among patients over the age of 65.

Customers can claim their cones at participating non-mall locations.

Donations will be funneled to local children's hospitals in the network, and will stay in local communities. There is a one per person limit.

Dairy Queen has raised more than $130 million for the nonprofit network over 30 years, according to a news release. The three finalists all win a year of free ices.
