Last September, the Vatican announced that it had recalled a then-unnamed diplomat from Washington after the U.S. State Department notified it about his "possible violation of laws relating to child pornography images".

Police in Windsor, Ontario, stated that Capella reportedly downloaded child porn from a social networking site while visiting a place of worship from December 24-27, 2016.
