Alexa Blueprints will DIY you straight to the dark side

Steve Rabuchin, VP of Amazon Alexa mentioned his family tried out the new feature and were able to setup jokes in a matter of minutes without having any building or coding skills. The Alexa Skills you create only appear on devices registered to your Amazon account. You can also use Echo Spot to start a voice or video call, or send a message to a supported Echo device or the Alexa App-simply say, "Alexa, call Dad", or "Alexa, send a message to Mary".

Alexa already has more than 30,000 skills, and this move is created to make it easier for non-developers to customize the digital assistant.

Creating your own Alexa skill and responses is simple.

On Thursday Amazon announced a new feature designed for its line of smart speakers.

The new Skill Blueprints functionality is an effort to open up that kind of customization to people without a background in software. Developers who want to add to Alexa's abilities can write code that works with Alexa in the cloud, letting the smart assistant do the heavy lifting of understanding and deciphering spoken commands. The program relies on a few basic templates that offers room to create customized experiences for Alexa within minutes just by filling in the blanks.

Colorado Teachers Next to Strike
Some educators, including Berryhill Public Schools teacher Christina Floyd, have been at the Capitol every day since April 2. It would be up to voters to change where the marijuana money goes and give more money for student funding or teacher pay .

The custom questions and answers are surely going to keep Alexa users busy tinkering with the new feature for a while. Each can be edited to suit a user's needs, and there is a button to add more. This will be the name users use to open the skill. Depending on which blueprint you select, you'll be taken to a separate webpage for that particular framework with additional information on it.

How do you find your custom Alexa skills?

We think it's the "Storyteller" class of Blueprints that has the most potential. As for what types of skills can already be created there are options for everything from making "sick burns to roast your friends" to creating a set of flash cards so that you or someone you know can get some help studying for that big test.

For now, Alexa Blueprints are only available to customers in the United States.
