Born Tim Bergling, the news of Avicii's death was announced by his PR representative via a statement.

The Swedish-born producer and DJ known as Avicii has been found dead in Oman.

"The family is crushed and we ask you to show consideration and leave them alone in this hard time".

No cause of death was given and Baron said no further statements would be released.

Avicii struggled with a number of physical and mental health issues over the past few years.

In 2016, Avicii retired from touring and announced the retirement as an open letter on his website.

Avicii was now internationally recognized and won an American Music Award for favorite EDM Music Artist.

And with a great roster of black artists and entertainers behind her, and performing between numbers, it was so much more. The insider said the added surprise is "to make up for the fact she was unable to perform past year ", when pregnant.

Avicii hit the top of the United Kingdom singles charts twice in 2013 with Wake Me Up and I Could Be The One.

Before he quit live performances in 2016, Bergling was known for his gruelling touring schedule. It also helped shape much of the dance music still dominating the Top 40 today, paving the way for country-EDM crossovers like Bebe Rexha's "Meant to Be" and Hailee Steinfeld's "Let Me Go".

"It sounds frightful but it's the truth, and I can't take back the overwhelming sense of frustration I felt", Luke wrote. 'Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do'.

The electronic dance music pioneer, born Tim Bergling, achieved two United Kingdom number ones and collaborated with dozens of artists. In 2011, his single "Levels" was nominated for a Grammy as was his 2012 collaboration with Dave Guettta called "Sunshine". He was hospitalised in March 2014 and cancelled several appearances.

One of Avicii's other hits, "Addicted to You", features a cinematically attractive love story between two female criminals.

However, he did not stop making music, releasing a six-track EP album in August 2017.

He also appeared in the documentary Avicii: True Stories, a chronicle of his quick rise and turbulent career. I never stopped to listen to that song. A year ago I quit performing live, and many of you thought that was it. "Why didn't I stop the ship earlier?" That sound bewitched me from the first moment and, needless to say, I begin listening to everything that came from him. The whole music thing was for the sake of success. I'm more of an introverted person in general. "That's what I love the most - having a session with Nile Rodgers, for instance, and getting an understanding of music that's invaluable".
